Nov 24 WikiCon 2013 in Karlsruhe Several members of the Wikivoyage association and authors of Wikivoyage took part in this year’s WinCon 2013. The WikiConvention or shortly WikiCon is the meeting of the communities of the German Wikipedia and its sister projects. The meeting was held at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 22 to 24 November 2013. On Sunday, DerFussi presented a lecture about the the project to participants interested in. On the brink of the meeting numerous discussions were held, such as with Lydia Pintscher on the state and future developments of Wikidata. Here, the integration of the vCard or listing items into the database were discussed. Aug 11 Wikimania 2013 in Hongkong This year’s Wikimania conference was held in Hong Kong, China, from the 7th to 11th August 2013. The conference brought together about 700 participants, including our association chairman DerFussi. The joint presentation by James Heilman and Stefan Fussan on “Wikivoyage: Travellers helping travellers” got great feedback. In the lecture the new Wikimedia sister project, its community, initial difficulties, possible future developments and the association were presented. Feb 04 Wikivoyage startet ein Arbeitsprojekt mit der Gemeinde Wennigsen Zusammen mit der Gemeinde Wennigsen (Deister) erarbeitet die Wikivoyage Community im Rahmen der Expedition 'Musterartikel'. Ziel ist es, den Artikel zur Gemeinde als vorbildhaften Kleinstadtartikel auszubauen. Seiteneffekt sind die Verbesserung der Projekt- und Hilfeartikel sowie eine Verbesserung der VCard und die Schaffung eines Satzes von Symbolen für das Reiseführerprojektes. Zusammen mit der Gemeinde Wennigsen (Deister) arbeitet die Wikivoyage-Community an der Schaffung eines Musterartikels. mehr...
